ABOUT
CEPS is the only research centre in Portugal exclusively dedicated to the areas of Political Philosophy and Ethics. The Centre brings together PhD researchers, post-doctoral researchers and other associated researchers in these areas of knowledge.
Members of the Centre work on topics such as distributive justice, human rights, immigration and tolerance, unconditional basic income and property-owning democracy, democracy and the public interest, political rhetoric and populism, anarchism, feminism, civic virtues, animal and environmental ethics, human enhancement, ethics of war, and various issues in the history of moral and political philosophy.
The Centre publishes Ethics, Politics & Society, an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal that publishes high-quality contributions in the Centre’s areas of expertise.
The Centre also organises an intensive series of international events, including the Braga Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy, the Summer School in Political Philosophy and Public Policy, and the Programme of Research Seminars.
The international panel of the Foundation for Science and Technology that evaluated the Centre graded its activities as “Very Good”.
